Age of Treason

Act 1, Chapter 5

Act 1, Chapter 4

Act 1, Chapter 3

Upon reaching the base, the team found a simple fence that did appear to be a lot more sturdy than an ordinary chain link fence. Driving up to the fence, the party began to try and see a way through the fence. The werewolf quickly located the influence of a locus and set off to recon, finding that within the fenced off area, there was only a single building with two elevators going down. He returned with this information, but quickly noted that off in the distance on the other side of small embankment, headlights could be seen getting closer. The party immediately returned to the car and the mage quickly cast a spell to render the car invisible to all of the senses of a normal person. A large SUV appeared over the hill and after a second of recon, a man stepped out and activated a strange looking staff, which dispelled the invisibility. In the course of combat, the Promethean and the werewolf both took to their natural inclinations and began to slaughter the VALKYRIE’s assembled. The hunters retaliated with strange guns that shot out nets connected to small harpoons. The mage was hit and rendered unconscious by the electrical impulses that coursed through the net. Those impulses seemed to stop the second the mage fell unconscious. The main battle was supplanted by a smaller battle, caused by several of the hunters fleeing in terror at the sight of the werewolf in his full Gauru glory. The Sin-Eater followed them, dispatched one and managed to incapacitate the other, bringing him back just in time for the battle to be over.

Quickly pulling the several nets that were lodged into their own car, costing them their windshield, the party beat a hasty retreat to regroup and figure things out. In the interim, the changeling convinced the party to help her break into the pharmacy of a hospital after hours to gather medical supplies for any supernaturals that were found in the base. Armed with that, the group set out again and parked in the desert about twenty miles away from the fence of the base.

The party discussed their options and the Sin-Eater, realizing that he could open the portal to the pocket dimension the mage had created for storage purposes, suggested that everyone wait inside while he infiltrated the base, which would allow them to pop out where ever the Sin-Eater was. With the plan hashed out, the party readied themselves for the assault.

Act 1, Chapter 2

The group stepped up to the invasion of hunters with admirable tenacity, striking a few down in short order. It became clear, however, that the hunters were prepared, and had brought the full force of their strength to bear, employing artifacts that would stop any of the mages from creating portals for a quick getaway. Still, the hunters were not prepared for the sheer power of the assembled supernaturals. A werewolf and one of the numbers of the Sin-Eaters stepped forward. The werewolf channeled lightning through the Sin-Eater’s gun, and when the Sin-Eater fired, twenty three hunters disappeared in an inferno of electrical fury. A Promethean stepped forward and shattered the very earth beneath the other group, and as they fell, fire rained from the sky to char their corpses. The amassed strength of the hunters held no candle to that of the supernaturals, and in the intervening lull of battle, Faolan Amherst asked again who would stand against the coming darkness.

Zaccariah Holm, the mage who had allowed the supernaturals to see Amherst’s images of the Apocalypse, created a portal that led into a self-contained room in space and time. There, followed by Joachim Magnus Teague Tempor and the Promethean known as Verney, Faolan invited the party to reveal their respective supernatural heritages. Once they had done so, Faolan thanked them for volunteering, and quickly got to the business at hand. Faolan explained that what he had said before was only the beginning, that there would be more. But the hunters had to be dealt with. Amherst explained that there were multiple groups of hunters, but that one of the groups that had attacked the conference of supernaturals was called Task Force VALKYRIE, and that they had a base in the New Mexican desert that served as their headquarters. Amherst asked the party to start there, reasoning that if VALKYRIE was aware of why the supernaturals were meeting, the group may be able to turn up interesting information at the base.

The party chose to go along with the plan and quickly took a portal out into the Memphis area to pick up Jeremiah Heimdall’s car and things. The party then took the highway down to New Orleans, where Vienna von Wylich lived with Ashur Iskendar in a manor on the outskirts of the city. Gathering up her belongings, the group set out for New Mexico, unsure as to what things would come their way.

They reached New Mexico after two days of careful driving to avoid notice and to take care of the vampire. The mage quickly realized that when the vampire didn’t need to breathe, that she could sleep in the pocket dimension that he had created, which didn’t have air. When they reached state, they found a motel room in a bad part of Albuquerque. The vampire, offended by the state of the motel, asked to be elsewhere. The Sin-Eater told her to sit in the car, but they weren’t leaving until they were ready. Finding the door locked, the vampire, in her genius mind, decided that the door was in the way, so she simply ripped it off. This led to the rest of the party coming out and quickly looking for a way to hide what had just happened. They managed to leave just in time to miss the cops, found another room and then settled down. During the day, the Sin-Eater bought a new car and supplies, and with night falling, the party set off to the coordinates of the base.

Act 1, Chapter 1

The story opens like most do, with the actions of one man. A werewolf of legendary repute, lacking in giving his name, has summoned a representative body from every faction of the supernaturals inhabiting our world. Choosing Memphis, Tennessee as the locale for his meeting, this Uratha seeks to put everyone on neutral ground, intending for an open forum of discussion.

Each faction sends five of their number, or at least intends to. Maybe due to fate, a younger member of each manages to find themselves either searching for the meeting by random happenstance, or dragged along by an older, wiser member of their respective society. Only when the groups get to Memphis do they find out the true location. On August 7th, 2010, they converge on an abandoned warehouse in the seedier parts of town. Each group thinks themselves the first to arrive, only to discover that when they enter the building, they’ve arrived at the same time as everyone else. With this, they are led to the center of the completely empty building, where stadium seating has been placed. Sitting, they are greeted by the werewolf, who merely motions to one of the Mages present.

The room faded away into nothingness, leaving only an image of the world at large looming before those gathered. As they watched, the world began to glow along ancient leylines, until the light began to focus on certain points of the globe. Then the light exploded, forming hundreds of mushroom clouds visible from space. The globe dissipated, revealing instead images of death and chaos. London fell beneath the waves, Paris shattered under the force of a titanic earthquake. Rio de Janeiro exploded with the fury of a nascent volcano, and the world as we know it ceased to exist. It was at that point the images disappeared, and the man in the center of them explained how this would come to be.

As his explanation drew to a close, the warehouse came under fire from two groups of hunters, humans intent on wiping out any and all supernatural taint from their world. It is here the group finds themselves, fighting for their lives.
